Razer's PlayStation 5 gamepad is fully licensed. Razer Wolverine V2 Pro includes high-end components and customizable features. The Wolverine V2 Pro incorporates offset analog sticks and HyperSpeed Wireless technology. The $250 Wolverine V2 Pro is unique to GameStop and Razer.
Razer's initial PS5 controller isn't the first Wolverine model. Wolverine controllers for Xbox/PC have all been hooked. Wolverine V2 Pro fixes our one major problem with the V2 Chroma Xbox controller.
It's comparable to the V2 Chroma, but somewhat larger. Official PS5 controller with menu buttons and touchpad. No internal speaker, Adaptive Triggers, or haptic feedback.
The V2 Pro has "HyperTriggers" instead of DualSense's Adaptive Triggers. These are two-setting trigger stops controlled by back-panel switches. Locking minimizes trigger pull distance. Trigger stops are geared at first-person shooter fans since they boost your rate of fire, simulating mouse-and-keyboard controls.
Wolverine V2 Pro has Mecha-Tactile buttons. This innovative design mimics the feel and responsiveness of a high-end gaming mouse's buttons. Microswitches increase precision on the eight-way D-pad.
The controller's back and top have remappable buttons. The rear triggers are situated closer to the handles than on the V2 Chroma.
The kit includes magnetic analog stick caps. Players can replace the default hats with tall, concave or short, domed styles.
Download Razer Controller Setup for iOS and Android to customize. This program remaps back and top multi-function buttons. Razer products aren't complete without RGB lighting. You can adjust the app's handling lighting effects. Add a second analog stick sensitivity profile. A "clutch" button allows you switch sensitivity while playing.
You can use a 2.4GHz USB dongle or the accompanying USB-C cable to connect wired. Like the Wolverine V2 Chroma cable, this one is braided.
The Wolverine V2 Pro is Razer's first PS5 controller, but it's also wirelessly and wiredly PC-compatible.
Razer Wolverine V2 Pro isn't PS5's only premium controller. Sony's DualSense Edge controller launches Jan. 26 for $200. Another third-party PS5 controller with offset sticks is the Victrix BFG Pro. The BFG Pro launches Dec. 1 for $180.
